Therapy

Lasting change is possible, even when difficulties have been part of your life for a long time.

My approach is grounded in a deep trust in your inherent capacity to heal and grow.

Therapy is not about being fixed or told what to do, but about receiving skilled, compassionate support, while drawing on a range of evidence-based approaches to help meaningful change take shape.

Internal Family Systems therapy (IFS)

I specialise in Internal Family Systems therapy (IFS) — an evidence-based and compassionate approach that helps people heal from trauma, emotional pain, and self-criticism.
IFS views the mind as an internal system made up of distinct “parts.”

You might notice parts such as:

  • an anxious, worried part that anticipates danger and plans for every possibility

  • a distracting part that uses distraction in an attempt to manage anxiety by pushing it away or ignoring it

  • a harsh critical part that judges you for not coping well enough and wants you to make better choices or react differently to situations

  • a numbing part that turns to alcohol or dissociation to manage feeling overwhelmed

IFS teaches that there are no “bad” parts of you — only parts that have taken on extreme roles in an effort to protect more vulnerable feelings.
Rather than judging or fighting these parts, IFS helps you relate to each one with curiosity and compassion.
Through this process, you begin to understand each part’s role and the ways it developed to keep you safe.
These protective responses often form early in life and can become automatic, shaping how we relate to ourselves and others.
With gentle and compassionate guidance, IFS supports the healing of underlying vulnerabilities, burdens, and core wounds.
This process helps you reconnect with your calm, open, and compassionate Self — a natural state of being from which genuine and lasting change can emerge.

Clients who access IFS therapy with me describe the process as intuitive, gentle, and deeply transformative.
Whether you’re based locally in Fremantle, elsewhere in Perth, or want online sessions, I offer therapy that meets you where you are.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR)

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a therapeutic approach that helps process and heal from emotional distress caused by disturbing life experiences.
In a gentle, safe environment, you are invited to focus on traumatic memories while engaging in bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements or sounds.
This process helps the brain reprocess these memories, reducing their emotional intensity and fostering healthier beliefs.

Integrating IFS therapy with EMDR ensures a compassionate, gentle path to healing, making trauma work feel safer, less overwhelming, and more integrated—leading to deeper, lasting change.
